Who Climbs with Bob?

Chode . . .

Chode, web site author and maintainer. Climbing with Bob came about when a perfectly good engineer decided to go to law school and the need for a break from all that came with that experience. That was twelve years ago and a three page narrative about our 2001 Bolivia climb has grown to over 340 pages

I've climbed all of Colorado's 14'ers and all but five of its Centennials. My overseas climbing includes Cerro Ramada in Argentina, the Cordillera Real and the Cordillera Apolobamba of Bolivia, the Cordillera Blanca and the Cordillera Vilcanota of Peru, and the Canadian Rockies.

G'Tard . . .

G'Tard wrapped up the 14'ers with a morning climb of Windom Peak in August of 2012. His overseas resume includes the volcanoes of Ecuador, the Ramada Range of Argentina, the Cordillera Real and the Cordillera Apolobamba of Bolivia, the Cordillera Blanca and the Cordillera Vilcanota of Peru, and the Canadian Rockies. He led our climb of Mt. Rainier, substituting an Emmons Glacier climb for a prior guided trip up the tourist route.

Malbec . . .

Malbec came on board about five years ago and has since punched his 20,000 foot card in Argentina and climbed and trekked 80 miles through Peru's Cordillera Vilcanota. He's got a good selection of 14'ers, nailed tougher 13'ers like Dallas and Teakettle, done some steep snow climbs that made him "comfortably nervous" and some very long approaches.

And if you must know, Malbec takes his name from the infamous Croatian "post war expatriate", Hauptsturmfuhrer Stanislav Malbec of the Waffen SS' 13th Division. OK, maybe I made that part up . . .

Reach Around . . .

Reach Around, formerly known as "Mini Van Reach Around," finished the 14'ers in August of 2012 and also has the summits of Mts. Rainier and Hood, glacier climbs in Canada and scored Mt. Assiniboine. Reach has gotten started on the Colorado Centennials and I now feel certain that a run on the top 100 is in his future.

With joy, Reach has thrown off the mantle of having a mini van and rejoined the ranks of the interped 4WD crew!

Reach is also a photo contributor for the site.

The Tuxedo Model . . .

Tux's job is to provide hours of enterainment in the nuances of texting, urban dictionary and just plain being himself. With him along, the most mundane of climbs becomes an entertaining day not soon to be forgotten. He has picked up a couple of 14'ers, a couple of higher 13'ers, and is on the "gotta bring along" list for our next South American advernture. And do you think he could be a tuxedo model?
