While I have no thoughts that "Climbing with Bob" will ever be a site folks stampede to read, I find its visitation statistics to be fascinating. Here are a few facts about the site as of the end of February 2008.
How many people visit the site?
Climbing with Bob has seen more than 56,000 visitors and over 100,000 page views since being rebuilt in August of 2006. The site averages over 6,400 page views per month with a peak month of just under 10,000 views in June of 2007. This summer's run up for visitors seems to have begun with this March being the third busiest month to date with over 8500 page views. Curiously, the number of visitors is pretty constant but those coming to the site are reading more pages.
What do you look at?
More than half of the pages on the site are viewed at least one time per day, however the most popular pages are the Home page (3,852 views), the Australia page (2,420 views) and I'm pleased to say . . . the Legal Disclaimer (1,256 views). As a practicing attorney, the attention you pay to the Disclaimer warms my heart . . . or maybe you just like that picture of my bruised arm.
Where are you from?
The map above illustrates the distribution of visits by country; however for the statistically curious, U.S. visits generally account for 67% of the total site visitation; however, once or twice a month, a new country will pop up, most recently Moldova and Liechtenstein, more than 110 countries to date. The #2 ranked country is Canada (6.5%), Sweden is #3 (5.2%), #4 is Australia (3.2%), and the United Kingdom closes out the top 5 (3.1%).
Banned in China?
Climbing with Bob has not had a visitor from China in almost one half year, an abrupt change from 30 to 40 per month up until then! An offensive word? An offensive picture? I dunno . . . I guess you can't please everyone!
